Free Law GAT Preparation: MCQs & Mock Test | Legal Sparrow
600+ exam-standard Law GAT MCQs, marked and explained.
Every question below is drawn from the statutes actually examined in the Law GAT — the Constitution of Pakistan 1973, CPC 1908, CrPC 1898, the Pakistan Penal Code 1860, Qanun-e-Shahadat Order 1984, the Contract Act 1872 and the rest of the syllabus. Each carries a verified answer and a short explanation, so you learn the provision, not just the letter.

What is the Law GAT, and how do you pass it?
The Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law GAT) is a mandatory assessment conducted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) through the National Testing Service (NTS) for holders of an LLB degree who wish to be enrolled as an advocate in Pakistan. A candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks in order to obtain the licence to practise. Because the pass mark is a straight percentage, marks are won and lost in bulk — and that is precisely what this tool is built to fix.
The subjects examined
- Constitutional Law — the Constitution of Pakistan 1973: Fundamental Rights (Articles 8–28), Principles of Policy, the judiciary, the executive, the legislature and the amendment machinery.
- Civil Procedure Code 1908 — jurisdiction, res judicata, res sub judice, pleadings, trial, execution, appeals and revision.
- Criminal Procedure Code 1898 — FIR, investigation, arrest, remand, bail, charge, trial, appeal, revision and reference.
- Pakistan Penal Code 1860 — offences against person, property and the State; the General Exceptions; the Qisas and Diyat scheme.
- Qanun-e-Shahadat Order 1984 — relevancy, admissions and confessions, burden of proof, documentary and oral evidence, examination of witnesses.
- Contract Act 1872 — offer and acceptance, consideration, free consent, void agreements, breach and damages, bailment, agency.
- Jurisprudence, Legal Ethics, Muslim Family Laws, Property Law and the allied statutes — including the Specific Relief Act, Limitation Act, Transfer of Property Act, Registration Act, law of torts and Islamic jurisprudence.
How to use this tool effectively
- Read the explanation every single time — even when you answer correctly. The explanation cites the section, the Article or the leading case, which is what the real paper tests.
- Use Mock Test mode at least twice a week. Sit the full paper in one sitting with the timer running and negative marking on.
- Work the Analytics tab. It shows your accuracy subject by subject and tells you exactly which two or three subjects are dragging your aggregate below the pass mark.
- Re-drill what you get wrong. Enable Smart mode and the tool mathematically weights the selection towards the questions you have never seen and the ones you keep missing.
- Keep a revision deck. Flag any question you are unsure of, then use the Browse tab's flagged filter on the morning of the test.
Bring your own question bank
If you are working through a particular book, handout or past paper, paste its MCQs into the My Bank tab. The parser reads the familiar Q:, A)–D) and Answer: layout, and everything you import is merged into the same tests, analytics and flashcards. Your imported questions are saved privately in your own browser — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Configure your test
Pick your subjects, length and conditions. Nothing here is permanent — you can change it before every attempt.

Import your own MCQs
Working from a book, a handout or a past paper? Paste its questions here and they are merged into your tests, flashcards and analytics alongside the built-in bank. You currently have 0 imported question(s).
Each question is one block. The parser accepts Q:, Question 1 or 1. to open a question, options labelled A)–D) (or (a), a.), then an answer line and an optional subject line.
Lines after the answer that are not options or a subject are treated as the explanation. Text wrapped onto more than one line is joined automatically.

How to use Law GAT MCQ Master
This tool mirrors the way the Law GAT actually rewards preparation: fast, accurate recall of statutory provisions. Everything runs entirely inside your browser — there is no account, no upload and no server. Your results, flags and imported questions are stored in this browser only.
1. Take a baseline test
Open Build Test, choose Full GAT simulation and sit the whole paper in one stretch. Do not check answers as you go. Your first score is the only honest measurement of where you stand, and it seeds the analytics that everything else depends on.
2. Read the explanation like a lawyer
When you review, the point is not "I got it wrong" — it is "I did not know that Section 47 CPC bars a separate suit on a question arising in execution." Each explanation names the Article, the section or the leading authority. Learn those anchors; the paper tests them again and again, often reworded.
3. Drill your two weakest subjects daily
The Analytics tab ranks your accuracy by subject and the Priority revision list surfaces anything below 55%. Press Practise beside a subject to open a drill weighted to it, or turn on Smart mode in the builder and let the tool favour the questions you keep missing.
4. Then simulate the real conditions
Twice a week, sit a timed mock with negative marking enabled and feedback set to reveal at the end. Under those conditions you learn to leave a genuinely uncertain question alone rather than guess — a habit worth several marks in the real sitting.
5. Revise in the last 48 hours
Use Flashcards for breadth and the Browse tab's Flagged only filter for the specific questions that made you hesitate. That pairing — broad recall plus a short personal list of traps — is the most efficient use of the final two days.
Keyboard shortcuts
- A B C D or 1–4 — select an answer
- ← → — previous / next question
- F — flag the current question for review
- Space — flip a flashcard
About the bank
The built-in bank covers the constitutional, procedural, penal and commercial statutes tested by the Law GAT, together with jurisprudence, legal ethics, Muslim family law and the law of torts. Answers and explanations have been checked against the plain text of the statutes. Statute law does change and provincial amendments vary — always confirm the current position in the official bare Act for your jurisdiction.
